What to wear for your session

We are so excited for our upcoming time together, here are some tips to style your session.

What to wear

For starters, think about a soft color palette with soft and flowing linens. Go for simple. Too many accessories and patterns can be distracting, we want the focus to be on you!

I always recommend that parents start with their outfits first! You can pick colors from your outfit to coordinate with your family. Think coordination not matching! Monochromatic tones can really make an unexpected impact.

You really want something that you feel great in! I usually recommend parents wear something that you feel comfortable sitting or standing in.

For your little ones, we are definitely fans of sweet little rompers/jumpers and classic timeless looks. Try not to add too many accessories we want the focus to be on them and not what they are wearing.

***Some of the things we try to avoid are bulky cargo pants/shorts, logos, writing and dark colors. When we are shooting film, bright and airy colors photograph best!

If you don’t want to worry about finding new shoes, that’s okay Barefoot is great!

It sounds weird, but I promise this makes the image look so much warmer and inviting. This can even include outdoor sessions 🤗

what about hair and makeup?

We like to keep things as natural to you as possible. Now is not the time to try a new haircut or style, it’s time to show who you are. A soft classic look for makeup photographs so well, and a bright lipstick can add a fun unexpected pop of color 😘

Most importantly get ready to relax AND have fun!

We will give you directions to keep the session moving, but what we really want to capture is your sweet family. Don’t worry about how your children will behave, we have tricks for getting authentic moments in any type of mood 😊
